KYIV, Oct 4 – The insurance market of Ukraine from July 1, 2022 to July 1, 2023 decreased by 19%, to 115 companies from 142, mainly due to the non-life segment (26 insurance companies), according to the report of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on the state of the insurance market during the war.
It is noted that six companies voluntarily left the market, 21 were withdrawn by decisions of the NBU: nine - based on the results of on-site supervision for violations of financial legislation, three - after on-site inspections for being denied access to them, eight - for failure to bring the ownership structure into compliance with the requirements of the law, and one - due to failure to obtain a single license.
