KYIV, Oct 2 – The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) estimates the total assistance needs for Ukrainian refugees, internally displaced persons and other groups affected by war to get through the coming winter at $123 million, and another $5.2 million for similar assistance in Moldova.
"UNHCR has prioritized 900,000 vulnerable, displaced and war-affected people in Ukraine and 55,000refugees in Moldova for targeted winter assistance from September 2023–February 2024," according to the department's report "Moldova and Ukraine 2023-2024 UNHCR winterization response."
