Ukraine seeks to impose sanctions on Russian nuclear energy: Kuleba
Journal Staff Report

KYIV, Sept 28 – Today, real opportunities have opened up for the adoption of sanctions against Russian nuclear energy, Ukraine will update this topic, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said.

"Currently, real opportunities have opened up for the adoption of sanctions against Russian nuclear energy. Because Westinghouse, together with the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, have developed a new fuel that replaces Russian one. This means that together we have 'taken off the needle' the countries that were slowing down these sanctions due to for the dependence of its nuclear energy on Russia. Now we will update this topic. It will not be simple anyway, because this is a multi-billion dollar business and a matter of energy security for specific countries. But we will continue to push," Kuleba said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
