KIEV, Dec. 15 - Ukraine's gross foreign debt grew 7% in January through September, from $38.633 billion to $44.87 billion, the National Bank of Ukraine said on its Web site on Thursday.

Foreign debt in the state sector totaled $11. 521 billion as of Oct. 1, including $5.031 billion in securities and $6.49 billion in long-term loans, compared to $12.393 billion at the start of 2006, the NBU said in a posting.
