KYIV, Aug 28 – Some 45% of farmers do not plan to significantly reduce the sown area under winter crops, 38% of the surveyed entrepreneurs can increase the sown area, and 14% will not sow winter crops this year.
These are the results of a survey of plans and preparation of farmers for the sowing campaign of winter crops for the 2024 harvest, which was conducted by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
"This ratio generally corresponds to the agricultural practice in Ukraine, where annually up to 20% of agricultural producers do not participate in the sowing of winter crops," the press service of the ministry said.
