KYIV, Aug 22 - Ukrainian underground storage facilities contain more than 13 billion cubic meters of gas, and are filling ahead of schedule, Ukrainian media reported, quoting the Energy Ministry's press office.
Nonresidents have started to pump more gas into Ukrainian storage facilities, which already contain about 600 million cubic meters of foreign gas.
In this regard, Minister of Energy Herman Haluschenko, during a visit to one of the facilities of the UGS operator of Ukraine, noted the effective work of NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy and JSC Ukrtransgaz, as a result of which Ukrainian storage facilities were certified according to European standards, which created opportunities for foreign companies to store gas in the country.
