KYIV, Aug 14 – In the August forecast, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) improved the forecast for the wheat harvest in Ukraine in the marketing year (MY) that began 2023/24 from 17.5 million tons to 21 million tons, and corn - from 25 million tons to 27.5 million tons due to larger-than-expected acreage and the second ever yield.
At the same time, the document notes, due to the cessation of the work of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, the export forecast remained unchanged - 10.5 million tons and 19.5 million tons, respectively.
