KYIV, Aug 11 – Ukraine's Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), which is uner control of the Russian forces, has started to transfer reactor unit 4 from hot shutdown to cold shutdown on Thursday following detection of a water leak at one of its four steam generators, IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi said.
Russia also plans to move unit 6 into hot shutdown, he said.
"The ZNPP will place unit 4 into cold shutdown to determine the precise cause of the water leak that has been detected and to conduct maintenance to repair the affected steam generator. There was no radiological release to the environment," Grossi said on the IAEA website.
