KYIV, Aug 10 – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) signed a loan agreement for EUR 60 million with the state-owned PrivatBank and agreed to take up to 50% of the credit risk on newly issued loans to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) of PrivatBank (Kyiv) for a total amount of up to EUR 240 million.
"The facility, composed of two elements, will back up to 50% of the credit risk in PrivatBank’s newly originated loans, subject to a portfolio cap of 50%. The risk sharing project brings the total volume of the EBRD’s enabled financing in Ukraine to EUR 708 million since the start of the war," the bank said.
