KYIV, Aug 1 – The authorities plan to add 2.9 GW of capacity to the power system by December 2023, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.
"We are preparing for winter and restoring the energy sector: generation, distribution networks, thermal power plants, combined heat and power plants, boiler houses. By December, we plan to add 2.9 GW of capacity to the power system," Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Tuesday.
According to him, along with this, the process of protecting objects from enemy attacks is underway.
"One of the ways to protect is the decentralization of generation. Its mobility is a guarantee of security. Russian terrorists will attack, first of all, static large power plants, but will not be able to hit mobile small objects," the prime minister said.
