KIEV, Dec. 13 ??“ Ukraine is to introduce differentiated excise rates for diesel fuel depending on its sulfur content, according to a law signed by President Viktor Yushchenko on Tuesday.

According to the document, if the sulfur content in diesel fuel exceeds 0.2%, the excise rate is EUR 45 per ton; from 0.035% to 0,2% it is EUR 35 per ton; from 0.005% to 0.035% it is EUR 30 per ton and less than 0.005%it is EUR 20 per ton.
