KYIV, July 19 - Following the results of the large-scale repair campaign, Ukraine plans to return 1.7 GW of damaged capacities to the energy system by the beginning of the autumn-winter period, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reported on Wednesday.
"Currently, the largest repair campaign in the history of Ukraine at power facilities is underway. As part of it, we plan to repair, first of all, generation facilities. Work is also underway to restore substations and networks, thermal generation facilities in regions for which it is critical. In general, we plan to add 1.7 GW to the energy system by next winter as a result of the repair campaign," Minister of Energy Herman Haluschenko said.
