KYIV, June 15 – In 2022-23, Ukraine increased sunflower exports by 14% and reduced its processing by 83%, having produced the smallest volume since 2009-2010, Svitlana Kyrychok, the oilseed market analyst at APK-Inform, has said.
"During the season, a record and uncontrolled sunflower export was observed from Ukraine, which happened amid a fall in oilseed processing and sunflower oil exports due to limited port operation. The main volume of exports (79%) in September-May went to EU countries, namely to Romania and Bulgaria, which, due to Ukrainian raw materials, significantly loaded their own enterprises and were able to increase the export of sunflower oil," she said.
