KYIV, May 29 – The war in Ukraine and its economic consequences have caused significant damage to the production and income of small farmers, which exceeded $3.85 billion, according to a report by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
"The data from this assessment will help FAO, the government of Ukraine and partners identify immediate needs, and geographic areas for investment and support for small farms to address the challenges posed by the current situation faced by them and quickly resume their activities," Chief of office for the FAO in Ukraine Pierre Vautier said.
