KYIV, May 16 – The German development agency GIZ is implementing 18 projects in Ukraine to improve energy efficiency in communities, each of which has been allocated EUR 100,000 in grants, the senior coordinator of the project for promoting energy efficiency and implementing the EU directive in Ukraine, implemented by GIZ with the support of funding by the Governments of Germany and Switzerland, Volodymyr Peregudov, said.
"As part of the project I am involved in, we are implementing 18 demonstration aid projects in which we co-finance our partner cities in the amount of EUR 100,000 in grants, and then the cities, in some cases without their own funding, in some cases with their own, are implementing energy efficiency measures," Peregudov told Interfax-Ukraine on the sidelines of the high-level conference of the Covenant of Mayors in Ukraine: planning sustainable development together, which took place in Lviv.
