KIEV, Dec. 5 ??“ Naftogaz Ukrayiny, the national oil and gas company, said Tuesday it paid off the remaining $306 million debt to RosUkrEnergo, a gas trader controlled by Gazprom, owed for natural gas supplies.

The total debt of $600 million was incurred in the first quarter after Russia had dramatically increased prices of natural gas, while Naftogaz had continued to sell gas domestically at a fraction of market price.
