KYIV, March 30 – The economic situation in Ukraine in the first quarter of 2023 is developing significantly better than the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) assumed in its January forecast, especially in terms of energy supply, therefore, with a high probability, the central bank at the end of April will improve the current GDP growth forecast by this year 0.3%, NBU Deputy Governor Serhiy Nikolaychuk has said.
"Only by improving the situation in the energy sector and given the change in the assumption that we do not expect supply disruptions until the end of this year, plus given the results of the first quarter, this factor alone should provide 1 percentage point (p.p.) in growth," he said at Business Breakfast with Volodymyr Fedorin.
