KYIV, Feb 17 – Ukraine will be ready to take part in CO2 emissions trading and may start it as early as 2024-2025, Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Ruslan Strilets has told Interfax-Ukraine.
"Ukraine can start trading in quotas already in 2024-2025. The issue is not on pause. In 2023, we signed an agreement with the Swiss Confederation, signed the relevant memorandum with Japan, and negotiations with many countries to conclude agreements directly on trading in quotas under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement are underway," Strilets said.
