KYIV, Feb 10 – Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren said that Ukraine had submitted an application to the Netherlands for the supply of F-16 fighter jets, the Dutch Broadcasting Organization (NOS) said on its website on Friday.
"We take the request very seriously, but the fighters are not just placed like that," Ollongren said on the Nieuwsuur program.
According to the minister, the planes are the U.S. defense system, so the permission of the U.S. government is required. "We need to discuss the availability of the F-16 with the Americans and other allies … And we have to think seriously about the consequences, it can't happen overnight. We have to be honest about this," she explained.
