KYIV, Feb 1 – Ukraine's pharmaceutical market in 2022 decreased by 42% in quantity terms and by 23% in monetary terms, according to the latest research by SMD. The cumulative sales on the pharmaceutical market in 2022 amounted to about UAH 61 billion, according to SMD.
At the same time, budget purchases decreased by 9% compared to 2021, while the retail segment decreased by 28%.
"A sign of 2022 is a significant increase in the share of equipment and medical products (from 26% to 39% in monetary terms) in the public procurement segment, which, accordingly, reduced the share of medicines from 79% to 53% in this segment, and in the entire market - from 79% to 74% (shares of categories in the retail market remained unchanged). Among medical products, surgical materials and goods for wounds, etc., have especially grown," the company noted.
