KYIV, Dec 16 – The total area of residential buildings for which construction permits have been issued (new construction) halved in January-September 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, to 5.2 million square meters, according to the State Statistics Service.

According to the statistics agency, for the nine months the total area of new construction of apartment buildings amounted to 5.09 million square meters (97% of the total volume). The number of apartments in apartment buildings announced at the start of construction amounted to 68,100, which is 1.8 times less than last year.
