KYIV, Dec 13 – UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres spoke about the constantly deteriorating humanitarian situation in Ukraine and stressed that the international community must invest in a reliable reconstruction of Ukraine so that this crisis does not escalate into poverty, hunger, poverty for millions of Ukrainians.

At an international conference of solidarity with the people of Ukraine in Paris on Tuesday, he said the war in Ukraine is a constant humanitarian horror, worsening every day as temperatures drop. Civilians pay a heavy price in winter, especially those who live near the frontline, lack heating, water and basic services. Every major power plant and water supply system has been damaged from Russian shelling. Specialists are working non-stop to repair critical infrastructure.
