KYIV, Oct 25 – The frozen Russian assets should be used to restore Ukraine and compensate for the losses inflicted by Russia, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has said.
"Russia must be held accountable for the damage, the losses it has inflicted on Ukraine in the past. We have experience that the invaders must be held accountable for the results of their actions. There is a big pocket of money that can be used. These are precisely those Russian assets, both of the Russian state and of the oligarchs, that are now frozen in Switzerland and other countries. Of course, the frozen assets may still increase, but it is this pocket, the purse that must be used to restore Ukraine, compensate for losses," Morawiecki said at the International Expert Conference on the Recovery, Reconstruction and Modernisation of Ukraine in Berlin on Tuesday.
