KYIV, July 7 – Weidmann Malyn Paper Mill (Zhytomyr region), owned by the Swiss group Weidmann, partially resumed work in May after a suspension with the start of the war, but faced the problem of difficulty in obtaining raw materials and a lack of orders, primarily from large enterprises, Franziska Tschudi Sauber, chief executive officer and member of the board of directors of Weidmann Holding AG, said.
When the war started, we had to stop work, but in May we resumed activities again in a somewhat limited mode. Almost all employees, except for those who serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, have returned and want to work. However, it is difficult and very expensive to obtain raw materials, because earlier it was supplied, including from Russia, and we are constantly faced with logistics and other problems. But the biggest problem is the lack of orders, especially from large exporting enterprises," she said, speaking at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Lugano, Switzerland on Monday.
