KYIV, June 24 – The quality of water in the basins of the Dnipro, Desna rivers and tributaries of these rivers, which are included in the control zone of the Northern Region Water Monitoring Laboratory, has slightly deteriorated since the beginning of the war, mainly due to the destruction of the Chernihiv water treatment infrastructure by Russian troops.
At the same time, the laboratory still cannot conduct research in the de-occupied areas of the Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions, where the quality of water could have deteriorated more significantly due to the war, Head of the Northern Region Water Monitoring Laboratory Oleksandr Shevchenko said.
