KYIV, June 1 - The restoration of Ukraine after the war will most likely require hundreds of billions of euros or dollars, Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Matti Maasikas said.
He said he was aware of the fact that the Ukrainian government is working hard on a recovery plan with the National Council for the Recovery of Ukraine. The needs are likely to be in the hundreds of billions of euros or dollars. Discussions from the international partners have just begun: how to raise these funds, how to manage them in cooperation with Ukraine. Of course, there must be a strong participation on the part of Ukraine. No one wants and cannot decide better than Ukraine what exactly this money will be needed for, Maasikas said at a briefing at the Ukraine Media Center on Wednesday.
