KYIV, May 2 – Almost two-thirds (60%) of Ukrainians consider diplomatic and humanitarian assistance from Western countries sufficient for Ukraine, according to the results of a sociological survey conducted by the Rating group.
So, according to the press release of Rating, over the past 1.5 months, the assessment of international assistance from our Western partners has improved.
In particular, the respondents noticed a positive trend in the provision of diplomatic, humanitarian and financial assistance to Ukraine. Diplomatic and humanitarian assistance is considered sufficient by about 60% (in early March - about 50%). Financial support is considered sufficient by 46% (in March - 39%).
At the same time, estimates regarding the provision of weapons to Ukraine have not changed: 29% consider them sufficient, 65% consider them insufficient. Estimates of economic sanctions against Russia have worsened: only 20% of respondents consider them sufficient (33% in March).
In addition, in the past two months, the attitude of Ukrainians towards the leaders of Poland, Great Britain, the United States, Turkey, Lithuania and France has significantly improved.
Ukrainians have a positive attitude towards Polish President Duda - 92% of respondents, British Prime Minister Johnson - 87%, US President Biden - 86%, Turkish President Erdogan - 76%, Lithuanian President Nauseda - 75%, French President Macron - 75%. President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen has a positive attitude of 66% of respondents.
At the same time, the attitude towards German Chancellor Olaf Scholz worsened: 30% have a positive attitude towards him, 54% negatively (in January 2022 - 23%). German President Steinmeier is positively viewed by 26%, negatively by 44%. (om/ez)
