KYIV, April 29 – Ukrhydroenergo has signed a memorandum of understanding with the German transnational company MAN Energy Solutions and the global supplier of equipment and services for HPPs Andrytz Hydro to develop and implement projects for the production of green hydrogen in Ukraine.
During the military and energy terror on the part of Russia, this project is important not only for Ukraine, but for the whole of Europe. The signing of the memorandum will launch global processes that will help create a hydrogen hub in our state in the future," Director General of Ukrhydroenergo Ihor Syrota, whose words are given in the company's release on Friday, said.
He added that with the appearance of such a hub, Ukraine will be able to achieve real energy independence and become a powerful producer of a strategic energy for the global market.
Green hydrogen enjoys strong support from governments and businesses around the world, and the number of hydrogen projects is growing every year. Ukraine has significant potential in this area and can become a significant player in the market," Executive Director of the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations in Berlin Michael Harms, who participated in the signing of the document, said.
In turn, Dr. Uwe Lauber, CEO of hydrogen production plant supplier MAN Energy Solutions, drew attention to the fact that the signing of the memorandum is the result of two years of cooperation between Ukrainian and German specialists in the development of a new industry for Ukraine.
