KIEV, Nov. 7 - Ukrainian Communists marked the 89th anniversary of the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution amid a massive police presence in the Ukrainian capital on Tuesday, as their nationalist opponents demonstrated nearby.

About 1,000 mostly elderly Communists marched through downtown Kiev, carrying the Soviet Union's red flag and portraits of Communist leader Vladimir Lenin.
