KYIV, April 8 – Ukraine needs aircraft, anti-ship missiles, armored personnel carriers, heavy air defense systems, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said.
"Aircraft, anti-ship missiles, armored personnel carriers, heavy air defense systems," Kuleba said at a briefing with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Brussels on Thursday.
He stressed that in recent weeks the Ukrainian army and the entire Ukrainian nation have demonstrated that they know how to fight, how to win.
"But without a stable and sufficient supply of all the weapons that Ukraine asks for, this victory will be accompanied by huge sacrifices. The more weapons we get and the faster they arrive in Ukraine, the more human lives will be saved and the more cities and villages will not be destroyed, and there will be no more 'Bucha.' This is my message to the allies, it is very simple," Kuleba said.
He called on all allies to put aside their doubts, their unwillingness to give Ukraine everything it needs, because today weapons serve the purpose of peace.
"My agenda is very simple, it has only three topics: weapons, weapons and weapons. We are confident that the best way to help Ukraine now is to provide it with everything necessary to contain Putin and defeat the Russian army on the territory of Ukraine so that the war does not spread further," the minister said.
At the same time, Kuleba pointed out that there should be no difference between defensive and offensive weapons, because any weapon used on the territory of Ukraine by the Ukrainian army against a foreign aggressor is defensive by definition.
"Therefore, this distinction between defensive and offensive does not make sense in relation to the situation in my country. And those countries that say they will provide Ukraine with defensive weapons, but cannot provide offensive weapons, are hypocritical, this is simply a dishonest and unjustified approach," Kuleba said.
