KYIV, Feb 23 – The countries of the European Union are introducing climate-friendly technologies and agricultural principles that reduce the gross volume of the crop, therefore, in the future, Ukrainian grain will be in demand in the EU to meet the growing needs of its agribusiness complex, Deputy Minister of Economy, Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka has said.
"The EU is having its big internal discussion about the future of its agriculture. These are climate-friendly technologies, more attention to the environment and soils. In these discussions, it is becoming increasingly clear that the implementation of these EU goals is possible only if it relies on Ukrainian grain. We are the most pro-European in terms of [grain quality] standards and principles of farming, and we are geographically close," the trade representative said at the Ukrainian Grain Summit on Tuesday.
