KIEV, Nov. 1 - President Viktor Yushchenko suggested Wednesday the government should have increased tariffs for moving Russian natural gas to markets in Europe next year following a recent 37% hike in gas prices.

Yushchenko also criticized the lack of transparency in the gas deal and the way the gas price had been calculated at $130/1,000 cubic meters in 2007.
