WASHINGTON, Feb 9 - Leaders of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee said a Russian cyberattack against Ukraine would be high on the list of acts to prompt sanctions against Vladimir Putin’s regime, even before an invasion, Politico reported Wednesday.
Some senators are pushing to include sanctions for cyberattacks as part of a wider bill taking action against Russia if it invades Ukraine. And it’s looking increasingly likely that a Russian hacking operation could be the first to trigger those sanctions.
