KYIV, Feb 7 – As of February 1, 2022, according to preliminary data, Ukraine's international reserves amounted to $29.287 billion, which is 5.3% less than at the beginning of 2022 ($30.941 billion), according to the data of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) published on Monday.
"As of February 1, 2022, Ukraine's international reserves, according to preliminary data, amounted to $29.287 billion. In January, they fell by 5.3%. However, they exceeded the average annual level in 2021. The decrease in the level of international reserves over the past month was first due to foreign exchange interventions of the National Bank aimed at smoothing out excessive fluctuations in the foreign exchange market caused mainly by a psychological factor," the NBU said.
