KYIV, Feb 1 – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky told Executive Vice President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis that EU’s EUR 1.2-bln macro-financial assistance package has helped to support the hryvnia.
"Our strategy has worked: to talk not about the war, but about the economy. Today is the first day when we have not spent a single dollar from our reserves to support the hryvnia exchange rate," Zelensky said and thanked the EU for the new macro-financial assistance program of EUR 1.2 billion. He said the decision to allocate this assistance was a timely signal for financial markets and is already helping to maintain the stability of the Ukrainian economy.
