KYIV, Dec 23 - Oxford Economics has worsened expectations of real GDP growth in Ukraine in 2022 to 2.8% compared to 3.4% in the November forecast, by the end of 2021 it expects the country's economy to grow by 3.1% of GDP, as follows from materials of the December forecast, which are available to Interfax-Ukraine.
"We expect the Ukrainian economy to grow by 2.8% in 2022, but the spread of the Omicron coronavirus strain has increased the risks of a deterioration in our forecast," analysts said in the forecast.
At the same time, they admit that another serious surge in COVID-19 infection may cause a decline in Ukraine's economic growth in January-March 2022.
