KYIV, Dec 13 – The introduction by the European Union of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) may lead to an annual reduction in revenues of Ukrainian companies to EUR 396 million annually during 2026-2030, and Ukraine's GDP will decrease by 0.08% annually, according to a study by Kyiv School of Economics (KSE).
The study indicates that revenues of Ukrainian companies exporting their products to the EU will decrease by EUR 361 million in 2026, and in 2030 the figure will reach EUR 396 million. In particular, experts predict that earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) will decrease to EUR 295 million annually due to a decrease in export volumes and to EUR 101 million due to an additional tariff.
