KYIV, Dec 3 - The Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe considers solving climate problems as the key area of partnership between business and the state for the next 5-10 years, Serhiy Kuzmenko, the director for economics and finance of Interpipe, said at a panel discussion on the role of partnership in economic growth during the Partnership for Sustainability Award 2021 ceremony organized by the UN Global Compact in Ukraine project.
At the same time, he recalled that in July of this year, the EU ordered to turn Europe into the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. To do this, they have pledged to cut emissions by at least 55% by 2030 from the 1990 levels. To accomplish this task, the EU has adopted a strategic document, the European Green Deal, which will have a significant impact on the economy of both the EU and all exporting countries to the EU.
