HELSINKI, Oct. 26 ??“ President Viktor Yushchenko has denied Ukraine made any political concessions to reach a deal with Russia on gas prices.

"As for the gas agreement, at the level of the president, no political questions were discussed. I think and I am sure that the government [did not discuss such questions] either," he said in Helsinki, commenting on some media reports alleging that political concessions, including in the issue of the Russian fleet base in Crimea, had been made to reach the agreement.
