Ukraine’s retail sales up 5.7% on year in October amid COVID-19 pressure
Journal Staff Report

KYIV, Nov 24 – Ukraine’s retail sales rose 5.7% on the year in October, slowing slightly from 5.9% on year increase in September, the State Statistics Service reported Wednesday.

In January-October 2021, compared to January-October 2020, retail trade turnover increased by 11.5%, to UAH 1.16 trillion.

The figures underscore a slow economic recovery after COVID-19 lockdowns in 2020 as many retail outlets still suffer from restrictions amid resurgence of new COVID-19 cases.
