KYIV, Nov 19 – The U.S. Department of Energy will finance an independent review of the safety analysis report for small modular reactors (SMRs) by the American company NuScale Power, which is to be carried out by the State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety of Ukraine.

"Any party interested in deploying a SMR in Ukraine will benefit from this independent review. This review will demonstrate the viability, value, and international interest in utilizing NuScale's SMR technology to produce clean, reliable, and affordable energy," NuScale said on the website.
