KYIV, Nov 12 – A total of 62% of Ukrainian citizens would support joining the European Union if a referendum was held now, and 32% would vote against such an initiative, according to a poll conducted by the Rating sociological group on November 4-9.
At the same time, 58% of Ukrainians would support joining NATO, 35% would not.
European integration is more supported in the west (78% versus 18%) and in the center (65% versus 28%) of the country, as well as in Kyiv (73% versus 24%), and less supported in the east (41% versus 50%). In southern Ukraine, there are only slightly more supporters of European integration than opponents (49% versus 44%).
