KYIV, Oct 27 – The National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission (NEURC) will not make a decision to ban electricity imports from Russia and Belarus for November due to low coal reserves and a threat of electricity shortages, a senior government source has said.
"The regulator has already come up on a decision – it will not ban imports from Russia and Belarus for November. When in September a decision was made to ban imports for October, they said that this did not constitute a threat to the power system and consumers, and in the future they would decide depending on the level of preparation for the autumn-winter period. You yourself know what kind of coal reserves we have," the source told Energy Reform.
