KYIV, Oct 23 – Ukraine and Moldova agreed to accelerate negotiations to solve some of long-stranding issues in bilateral relations, including demarcation of border, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said.
"Ukraine and Moldova are not just friendly peoples, we are extremely close to each other. We also have issues that need to be resolved, and today we agreed to form a negotiating mechanism where we will look for comprehensive solutions to problematic issues. We must prepare solutions and documents for their political approval during the first meeting of the Council of Presidents of Ukraine and Moldova, which will be held soon," Kuleba said at a press conference following talks with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova Nicolae Popescu.
