KYIV, Sept 24 – NPC Ukrenergo has certified the battery energy storage system (BESS) at the Zaporizhia TPP (PJSC DTEK Dniproenergo) with a capacity of ± 1 MW to participate in the market of ancillary services, the company reported on its website on Friday.

"For the first time in Ukraine, the battery energy storage system (BESS) installed at the Zaporizhia TPP will be able to provide a Frequency Containment Reserve (FCR) of ± 1 MW. Tests have shown that the BESS meets the requirements for ancillary services enshrined in the Transmission System Code," the company said.
