KYIV, Sept 2 - Ukraine and Qatar have signed a protocol on cooperation in the energy sector, in particular, in the field of energy efficiency, renewable energy, and gas industry.

The Ministry of Energy said after the second meeting of the joint commission on economic, trade and technical cooperation between the governments of Ukraine and Qatar that among the promising areas of cooperation between the two states were medium and long-term contracts for the supply of LNG (liquefied natural gas), starting in 2022, the construction of LNG/LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) plants and the development of natural gas transport, investing in the gas transmission system, oil refining industry, and extraction of carbon.
