KYIV, Sept 2 – Ukraine and the United States intend to work to enhance good corporate governance at Ukraine's energy sector state-owned enterprises, to ensure the independence of the energy regulator, to decarbonize Ukraine's economy and ensure its energy security and export potential, according to a joint statement by and between the United States Department of Energy and the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine on enhancing bilateral energy and climate cooperation.

The documents was signed on September 1, 2021 as part of the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the United States.
