KYIV, Aug 16 – Astarta, the largest sugar producer in Ukraine, has completed harvesting early grain crops on a total area of 53,800 hectares, including the company threshed 268,000 tons of winter wheat from 46,600 hectares, the highest in the last five years of average yield – 5.76 tons per ha, the agricultural holding said on the website on Monday.

In addition, Astarta threshed 23,400 tons of winter rape from 7,230 hectares with an average yield of 3.24 tons per ha.

According to the company, the highest yield of this crop was recorded in the fields of Volochysk Agro LLC (Volochysk, Khmelnytsky region), which is part of the agricultural holding – 6.25 tons per ha with the high quality of wheat: 75% of grain is of II and III classes.
