KYIV, Aug 3 – Germany must consider positions of other European countries while deciding on certification of Nord Stream 2 as has been the case with another pipeline, OPAL, Yuriy Vitrenko, the head of Naftogaz Ukrayiny, said.

"The principle of solidarity, which was confirmed by the decision of the European court on OPAL, must be applied by the German regulator. Previously, the German regulator did not want to apply it. It said: we look only at Germany, we do not care what happens in other countries. The European court said 'No!' The German regulator is obliged to consider the interests of other countries," Vitrenko said in an interview with Radio Svoboda.
