KYIV, July 19 – The Ukrainian steel sector is currently facing three big challenges: environmental modernization, product access to export markets and problems within the country – the provision of raw materials, in particular, scrap metal, as well as tariffs of monopolies and the need to increase domestic consumption of metal.
As Deputy Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development Dmytro Kysylevsky said from the parliament's rostrum, environmental modernization is on the metallurgy agenda, given the European Green Deal, within which the EU will provide its producers with huge support for eco-modernization, and will establish trade barriers against others.
